The Ecosystem Is the Product
3 minute read

Last week in Taipei, the largest companies in computing spent five days making more or less the same argument.

At Computex 2026, Intel's keynote leaned on its 4,000-plus edge ecosystem partners and a new rack-scale collaboration with Foxconn. NVIDIA filled the show floor with partner demos rather than a single flagship box. QCT brought its own ecosystem to the floor, showcasing independent software vendors' solutions running on its AI infrastructure rather than presenting its hardware alone. Lanner did much the same, demonstrating its AstraEdge AI platforms built in close partnership with NVIDIA, its edge hardware positioned as one layer in a larger stack, not the whole of it.

The pattern is hard to miss. The companies with the most leverage in the industry are not competing to own the whole stack. They are competing to be the most valuable layer inside an ecosystem that no single vendor controls. Enduring advantage no longer comes from the product alone; it comes from the platform that others build on.

We have held that view for a long time. Our ecosystem tagline is "Works with Nx" for a reason: Nx EVOS was designed as open, modular infrastructure that technology partners extend, rather than a closed system they work around. Today Nx software manages more than four million devices across more than 150 countries. None of that happened because we built every piece. It happened because developers, camera vendors, and analytics providers built on top of us.

An ecosystem is only as strong as the experience of the people building in it. That is the context for a change we are making to how we deliver support — and why, if you build video applications, AI models, or hardware integrations, now is the right moment to formalize your relationship with us.

What's changed in support

We’ve structured technical support around verified partnership. Direct support has always been intended for the people we have a direct relationship with — authorized resellers and technology partners such as camera vendors and developers. That model is written into how our channel already works. We are now aligning the day-to-day execution with it.

In practice:

  • Verified partners and resellers get direct access to our support team and ticketing system.
  • Downstream end-users are routed to self-service resources — our Knowledge Base and Support Community — and to their reseller, who is closest to their deployment and best positioned to help.

This is not a reduction in support. It is a clarification of who provides it. Resellers become the genuine first line for the customers they serve, which is where that relationship belongs. For resellers and channel partners it is an opportunity to provide increasing value in your network. Direct access to our engineering team is now a dedicated benefit for recognized partners. For developers and vendors, this ensures a reliable, professional channel to the people who maintain the platform.

What you get when you build inside the Nx ecosystem

If you develop AI models, analytics, or hardware that touches video, joining the Nx integrations program gives you a real platform to build on — and, now, a direct line to the people who maintain it.

Direct technical support. Approved technology partners submit tickets directly to our support team. When you are integrating against the Nx Toolkit — the Metadata SDK, Video Source SDK, Storage SDK, HTTP Server API, and the Nx Connect, Cloud, and AI Cloud APIs — you are working with us, not around us. Verified partner status is how you unlock that channel.

A production AI pipeline, not a sandbox demo. Nx AI Manager lets you deploy computer vision models directly to the server or edge device running the Nx Media Server. Upload a model in ONNX format — or bring one from Edge Impulse, Ultralytics, Teachable Machine, or TensorFlow/TFLite — and the platform generates optimized artifacts for supported accelerators, including CPU, Intel OpenVINO, and NVIDIA CUDA/Jetson. The same model runs across mixed hardware without manual recompilation for each target. Model chaining, built-in postprocessors, and custom pre- and post-processing are all supported.

A real path to your customers. With Generation 6, Nx AI Manager ships as a default integration in every Nx Witness Enterprise installation. That means an approved model or integration can be deployed straight into the systems your own customers already run — no separate vendor relationship, no parallel stack to maintain. You build once and distribute to the deployments you manage, on infrastructure they already trust.

An open architecture built to extend. Nx EVOS runs across on-premises, edge, and cloud environments and is designed to be built on over the long term. You are integrating with a platform whose entire commercial logic benefits when partners succeed.

How to apply

If you are a developer or vendor who wants direct support and a place inside the Nx ecosystem, the path is straightforward.

Apply through our integrations program at the Nx Tech Partner Sign-Up. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will be onboarded as a verified technology partner, which establishes your direct support access and connects you to the SDKs, APIs, and deployment surface above.

The industry spent last week agreeing that the future is built in ecosystems. We would rather you build in ours.
