Network Optix, a global developer of intelligent video software, announced a technology partnership with Juganu, bringing Juganu’s AI-powered smart lighting platform together with Nx Go to help cities and transportation agencies turn existing streetlights into sources of real-time transportation data.
Juganu’s platform combines LED lighting, high-resolution cameras, edge AI processing, and wireless connectivity in fixtures designed for existing light poles. Nx Go, built on the Nx Enterprise Video Operating System (Nx EVOS) and purpose-built for transportation, transforms video and sensor feeds into structured data, including vehicle counts, incidents, and events. Together, the technologies support applications such as traffic management, pedestrian safety, mid-block detection, and intersection monitoring without requiring new poles or a separate camera network.
“Transportation agencies need better visibility into what’s happening on their roads, but expanding monitoring capabilities often means significant infrastructure investment,” said Marc Faubert, Director of Mobility Platform Business Development at Network Optix. “By combining Juganu’s connected lighting technology with Nx Go, we’re making it easier for agencies to introduce new capabilities, make better use of their existing infrastructure, and scale as their needs evolve.”
More Value from Existing Infrastructure
By building on existing streetlight networks, agencies can expand their transportation monitoring capabilities without the cost and complexity of deploying separate infrastructure. This also allows for a more flexible approach to implementation, starting with a single intersection or corridor and expanding across larger networks as needed.
With Nx Go, data captured through Juganu’s fixtures can be integrated into traffic management systems, operations dashboards, and digital twins. This gives transportation teams greater visibility into roadway conditions, helping them monitor traffic activity, identify incidents, and make more informed operational decisions.
“Cities have a tremendous opportunity to unlock greater value from the infrastructure they already own,” said Brandon Branham, VP of Connected Solutions at Juganu. “Our partnership with Network Optix brings together Juganu’s intelligent lighting infrastructure and Nx Go’s transportation platform to turn real-time data into actionable insights. Together, we’re making it easier and more cost-effective for transportation agencies to improve roadway safety, optimize traffic operations, and make smarter decisions without the complexity and expense of deploying new infrastructure.”
Availability
The Juganu integration will be acessible through the Network Optix Integrations Directory, with licensing and deployment provided by Juganu. Customers can also access the solution through Network Optix and authorized distributors and resellers.
